As you may know, Kev and I got married! We are having a blast being significant nommers. Getting married was a wonderful thing. Though it was stressful to plan a wedding, it brought us closer to our family and friends. It also made us realize that we will now one entity. We make eat, drink and make decisions together, which is amazing. I always thought that getting married was just signing a piece of paper making it official, as we had planned to be partners in life long before we got engaged. Now that we are married, I am actually viewing that piece of paper differently! It has become a symbol of our love for each other. It has also legally binded us to where we would have to click/check/mention spouse on every single form! Hahah. I guess what I’m trying to say is, through the wedding process and the journey of being married, we are no longer just 2 people in a relationship. We have become one unit that lives life and operates in synergy. And that, is a powerful thing.

Wait, I got distracted. I meant to post some pictures! Here are some pictures from the wedding:

Chinese Wedding

Our wedding in Malaysia

We got married in Malaysia at my parent’s Home in Gohtong Jaya. It was a beautiful day and so many of our relatives and friends came to witness our union. We were so grateful for everyone’s presence and can’t stop reminiscing our day. And kudos to my parents for being such amazing wedding planners. We couldn’t have pull it off without their impeccable taste and organization.

Our wedding in New Orleans

Wedding cake pulls

We also got married in New Orleans (I know. We really just wanted to eat more food and cake) as many of our friends and relatives were not able to travel to Malaysia. It was definitely a low key and intimate affair and all we did was eat, drink and chat!

For those who are unfamiliar with cake pulls, it is an old tradition in New Orleans where the ladies in attendance participates in pulling a charm from the cake to find out their fortune. The fortune ranges from who will be travelling to who will be getting married next! The charms from our wedding was made by Kev’s aunt Gay Trepagnier and they were super adorable.

These two weddings were so amazing and it couldn’t have happened without our families, friends and, of course, some professional help.
